ROUTE 52 AND 53 DETOURS

Tompkins County Highway Division crews will be repairing Boiceville Road in the Town of Caroline from 6 a.m. Monday, July 26, through approximately 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 27, resulting in the detour of both bus routes 52 and 53.

 TCAT will detour both routes inbound: from Route 79 to Lounsberry Road to Valley Road and onto the regular route. Outbound: Valley Road to Lounsberry Road to Route 79 and then onto the regular route.

 TCAT asks passengers and motorists for their patience and to plan accordingly.

ROUTE 10, 30, 72 AND 93 DETOURS

The Ithaca City Department of Public Works is repaving Thurston Avenue, between Stewart Avenue and Wycoff Road, beginning Tuesday, July 6, prompting four detours.

TCAT passengers are asked for their patience and to plan accordingly until the road improvement project is completed on or around Friday, Aug. 20.

The detours are as follows: Route 10 From University Avenue, continue past Stewart Avenue; turn right onto West Avenue; left onto Campus Road; left onto Garden Avenue; left onto Tower Road; left onto East Avenue; and then proceed onto normal route. Route 30 Outbound traveling to the Mall From Thurston Avenue, turn right onto Wait Avenue (the section by Louie’s Lunch Wagon); right onto Wyckoff Road; right onto Highland Road; and continue onto normal route. Inbound traveling from the Mall From Highland Road, turn left onto Wyckoff Road; left onto Wait Avenue; left onto Thurston Avenue; (again, the section by Louie’s Lunch Wagon); and continue on normal route. Route 72 Outbound traveling to the Airport From College Avenue, turn right onto Campus Road.; left onto East Avenue; right onto Wait Avenue; right onto Jessup Road; and continue on normal route. Inbound traveling from the Airport From Jessup Road, turn left onto Triphammer Road; left onto Wait Avenue; left onto Thurston Avenue and proceed on East Avenue; right onto Campus Road; left onto College Avenue; and continue on normal route. Route 93 Outbound traveling towards Hasbrouck Apartments From West Campus, turn left onto University Avenue; left onto Stewart Avenue; left onto Campus Road; left onto East Avenue and proceed on Thurston Avenue; turn right onto Wait Avenue traveling to Hasbrouck along the normal route. Inbound traveling from Hasbrouck Apts. From Cradit Farm Road, turn left onto Thurston Avenue and proceed onto East Avenue; turn right onto Campus Road; right onto West Avenue;, left onto University Avenue; left onto Stewart Avenue; left onto Campus Road; and right onto College Avenue.

MAPLE AVENUE ADDED TO ROUTE 51

Effective Saturday, July 3, Route 51 will stop on Maple Avenue every hour on Saturday and Sunday at the following times: Outbound to East Hill Plaza 43 minutes past the hour from 6:43 a.m.-6:43 p.m. Inbound to Cornell and Downtown 4 minutes past the hour from 7:04 a.m.-7:04 p.m.

NEWFIELD ROUTE 67 DETOUR

The Route 67 will be detoured effective Monday, June 28, for up to three months due to the Main Street Bridge replacement.

The bus will be rerouted left onto Main Street from NY State Route 13 and then proceed to the Newfield Schools' entrance and then back onto the normal route.

Passengers who live south of the detour can use the park-and-ride, located at the town hall. Those will concerns can contact TCAT's Service Development Manager Nancy Oltz at 277-9388, Ext. 300.

SUMMER SERVICE CHANGES

Beginning Sunday, May 23 - August 21, 2010 TCAT will be operating its summer schedule.

Below are routes that have changes effective Sunday, May 23:

Route 14 will travel by way of the Professional Building on its way into Cayuga Medical Center.

Route 15: Although route 15 will still stop at Wegman's, the actual time point will be changed to Tops to prevent the bus from laying over at the Wegman's passenger shelter, where the roadway is more congested.

Route 21: has a slight timing adjustment from Jacksonville Outbound to Aubles. A time stop has been added for Juniper Manor after leaving Aubles at 1:40pm.

Route 32: will now serve Arrowood Dr./Convenient Care on its way outbound to the airport. The last trip going into Arrowwood Dr. will be at 3:35pm. This will not affect the timing.

Route 40: has slight timing adjustments between Varna and Seneca St.

Route 51: Route 51 will again travel down Pine Tree Road and into East Hill Plaza instead of using Maple Ave. This will not affect timing.

Route 93: does not operate Sunday service during the Summer and will also have a routing change effective Sunday, May 23. Sunday service will resume on Sunday, August 22.

Though summer service begins Sunday, May 23 and lasts through Saturday, Aug. 21, some of the current routes and schedules will vary on dates to accommodate departing and arriving students. They are as follows:

Route 22: Beginning Monday June 28, 2010 through Friday August 20, 2010, Route 22 will provide service between Green Street, Cass Park and Taughannock Falls State Park.

Route 30: will not be operating on Saturdays and Sundays beginning Sunday, May 23 through Sunday, August 15, 2010. Route 30 weekend service will resume on Saturday, August 21.

Route 31: The late trip departing from Green Street at 10:40pm will not run during the Summer but will resume on Monday, August 23.

Route 82: will be reduced to operating every 30 minutes - making trips on the hour and on the half hour. Trips departing Hasbrouck at :15 and :45 minutes after the hour will not be operating Sunday, May 23 through Saturday, August 21.

Routes 83: will not be operating Monday, May 24 through Thursday, August 19. Route 83 will resume service earlier beginning on Friday, August 20.

Routes 92: Route 92 will operate during the week of May 23 - May 29 for senior week. Route 92 will not be operating Sunday, May 30 through Thursday, August 19. Route 92 also has a routing change which will be effective on Friday, August 20 when route 92 resumes for the Fall.

Route 93: does not operate Sunday service during the Summer and will also have a routing change effective Sunday, May 23. Sunday service will resume on Sunday, August 22.
