Way2Go and ITNAmerica invite area residents at least
18 years old to complete a transportation survey and enter a drawing for $50 or
one of six $20 Wegmans gift cards. Tompkins
County, Way2Go of
Cooperative Extension, and other local transportation partners are
collaborating with national transportation innovator ITNAmerica to research
potential new ways of providing and organizing personal transportation called
ITNEverywhere. If implemented here, ITNEverywhere would collaborate with or
build on existing services to provide new ways for people in the community to
get rides, share rides, help each other, save money, and use less energy.
The survey, open to adults in Tompkins County and
neighboring counties, asks about people's transportation habits, preferences
and interests in relation to potential ITNEverywhere services, and takes an
average of 15 to 20 minutes to complete. The survey and drawing entry are
online at www.surveymonkey.com/s/itnetompkins. Paper surveys and drawing entries are
currently available at Cooperative Extension of Tompkins County at 615 Willow Ave.,
Ithaca, and will soon appear at
local libraries and other public locations. An evolving list of where surveys
can be found is at www.Way2Go.org,
or people can contact Way2Go as shown below. People can also contact Way2Go to
help put surveys in their local grocery store or other public spot and receive
a second entry to the drawing. The survey closes on July 21, 2012.
The Steering and Advisory Committees of the research
and development project include participants from Tompkins County Department of
Social Services, Way2Go of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Tompkins County,
the Tompkins County-Ithaca Transportation Council, Gadabout, Finger Lakes Independence
Center, TCAT, Ithaca Carshare, 2-1-1 Info & Referral, FISH, the Office for
the Aging, ICSD Transportation, and Tompkins Learning Partners.
