IF and WHEN bad weather strikes, please check the alerts section of our website or the Public Services Messages on TCAT’s Bus Tracker (on bottom left) for updates regarding snow detours and canceled service. You can also download the MyStop app for your mobile device and view or register to receive rider alerts and public service messages.
Routes 11, 11S, 11N, 14, 14S, 36, 51, 92 and 93 have established detours that go into effect when winter storm conditions prevent TCAT from safely traveling certain roads. When significant snowfall or ice makes certain sections of the route impassable, the route will be placed on a snow detour until conditions improve. Snow detours are put in place on a route-by-route basis. Snow route maps are featured on each schedule page as shown below.
*In the event Sunrise Rd. is closed to inclement weather, Routes 14 and 14S will use a different snow detour than the one listed above due to construction expected to last through much of winter 2020. The detour will be as follows:
Outbound Hector St. to Warren Place to Haller to Hook to West Village. Reverse for Inbound.
When it’s wintry, expect sporadic delays system-wide. Dress warm. Be at your bus on time. Please be patient. Our professional bus operators are WAY ABOVE AVERAGE AWESOME DRIVERS, but can’t control severe weather and traffic delays. Safety is always their top priority!
